Kerry Hines is a poet, writer and researcher with a particular interest in the history of photography and New Zealand photographic histories.

Her collection Young Country was published by Auckland University Press in 2014, and her poems and essays have appeared in numerous publications and online.

A single poem, such as ‘Settlement’, long and choral, with its humour and sparking ideas, makes me feel history and a changing world. I can think of no other New Zealand poetry collection like it.
